Act Today to #saveH2B

Yesterday, House Small Business Committee Chairman Chabot (R-OH) introduced the “Strengthen Employment And Seasonal Opportunities Now (SEASON) Act.’’ The following members joined Chairman Chabot as cosponors of the bill: House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH), Dr. Andy Harris (R-MD), Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-KS) and Rep. Billy Long (R-MO).

The legislation includes a permanent returning worker exemption that would exempt from the annual 66,000 cap H-2B workers who worked in the United States during the previous fiscal year.  It also simplifies H-2B processing.

Please reach out to your Representative and encourage him or her to cosponsor the SEASON Act or thank him is he have already done so.  A summary of actions we hope you will undertake are below:

Call and email your Representative and ask him or her to cosponsor the SEASON Act. You can reach your Representative through the Capitol Switchboard at 202-225-3121.

  • If you have not already done so, please call and email your two Senators and ask them to cosponsor the Save our Small and Seasonal Businesses Act, S. 792, that was introduced last week by Senators Tillis (R-NC), King (I-ME), Thune (R-SD), Collins (R-ME), Rounds (R-SD), Cornyn (R-TX), Murkowski (R-AK), Blunt (R-MO) and Warner (D-VA).  You can reach your Senators through the Capitol Switchboard at 202-225-3121.
  • Please also tweet at your elected officials and encourage them to pass H-2B cap relief immediately.  You can also thank your Senators if they are cosponsors of S. 792 or encourage them to cosponsor this bill if they have not yet done so.  Please also thank your Representative if he is a cosponsor the SEASON Act or encourage him or her to cosponsor this bill if they have not yet done so.  Don’t forget to the #saveH2B.
